Psychobabble Records Manifesto

The idea behind releasing the first cd was simple “Suspect Package played a great gig, we’ve got a great recording of it and people should hear it!”

And in essence that is the reasoning behind Psychobabble Records. I want Psychobabble to be a place for musicians to air live tapes, demos, and half-formed ideas – to release recordings that wouldn’t make it to an official lp or single but are just too damn good to remain unheard.

The releases will be limited editions and creatively packaged (although the band baulked at some of my more suspect packaging ideas for this release – parcel labels with the band’s name on it! Genius I thought.) I want this label to be the 21st Century equivalent of the back-bedroom indie labels I grew up listening to in the eighties.

The Gifted is the one-man band Andy Clarke, recorded in his home studio this cd is a stunningly crafted, passionate journey to the darkside of the soul.

Andy is lead singer of the exciting new band Cleetus, who have recently received a great deal of attention for their incendiary gigs, and have won through to the final of the London Calling Battle of the Bands competition. Consequently, we expect plenty of interest in this stunning 60 minute album which features guest appearances from Heather Watson and Robin from Purged.
